1. City of Vancouver Year 2000 Project
Patti Marfleet, Director of Risk and Emergency Management, and Larry Meek, Chief Information Officer, will give a report reference on the City's Year 2000 program.
The attached Administrative Report, dated August 10, 1998, refers.
RECOMMENDATIONS A-D, AS QUOTED BELOW, WERE APPROVED:
A. THAT Council support an initiative by the Municipality of Maple Ridge, through the Union of B.C. Municipalities, to obtain legislative liability exemption for municipalities for claims associated with Year 2000 issues.
B. THAT Council adopt the Year 2000 Policy contained in Appendix A of this report.
C. THAT Council endorse the terms of reference and work program for the City's Year 2000 Task Force contained in Appendix B and C of this report.
D. THAT Council forward this report to the Vancouver Police Board and the Vancouver Park Board to confirm their participation in and support of the program.

Peter T. DeGalan, Vice-President, The Taubman Company, will give an "information only" presentation to Council, as background to a property matter which will be dealt with "In-Camera".
