Appointments to Civic Agencies and Committees


A. THAT the following individuals be appointed to the Active Transportation Policy Council, representing the categories indicated, terms to commence immediately and end February 28, 2017:

• Paul Dragan (Cycling)

B. THAT the following individuals be appointed to the Renters Advisory Committee, terms to commence immediately and end February 28, 2017:

FURTHER THAT Patricia McSherry be appointed as an alternate, should a vacancy arise on the Vancouver Civic Theatres Board prior to December 4, 2016.

FURTHER THAT Jonathan Parker be appointed to the YVR Aeronautical Noise Management Committee, term to commence immediately and end December 2, 2017.

 

Strategic Land Acquisition - 1245 Glen Drive

THAT Council authorize the Director of Real Estate Services to proceed with the acquisition of 1245 Glen Drive, legally described as PID: 007-511-531 Lot B, Except Part In Explanatory Plan 16371, Block 117 District Lot 181 Plan 16527 (“the Subject Property”) at a purchase price of s.17(1); source of funding is the 2015 Capital Budget of the Property Endowment Fund (PEF).

Approval of Funding and Ownership/Lease in School/Childcare Project at Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary School

A. THAT the General Manager of Real Estate and Facilities Management be authorized (on behalf of the City) to negotiate and execute a long term lease/ownership agreement, development management and related legal agreements for the Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary School childcare centre and related space with the Board of Education of School District No. 39 (“VBE”), all on terms and conditions satisfactory to the Directors of Real Estate and Legal Services, the General Manager of Community Services, the Director of Finance and the City Manager.

B. THAT, subject to approval of A, Council approve in principle a project budget of up to s. 17(1) for the Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary School childcare centre, including s. 17(1) to be allocated from the current multi-year program capital budget for the 2015-18 Childcare Age 0-4 program, with the remaining funding to be allocated as required through the quarterly capital budget adjustment process and/or the 2017 annual capital budget process.

C. THAT the Director of Legal Services be authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City all other legal documents required to implement A.

D. THAT no legal rights or obligations will be created by Council's adoption of A, B and C above, unless and until such legal documents are executed and delivered by the Director of Legal Services.
