PLEASE NOTE: In the related Policy Report, staff are recommending that the matter be referred to a Public Hearing. This is the only decision before Council regarding this report. At the Standing Committee on Planning, Transportation and Environment meeting on May 27, 2015, Council received a presentation on this matter and referred the following motion to the Regular Council meeting on June 9, 2015, as Unfinished Business, in order to receive more information from staff:
THAT having heard the expert evidence compiled by staff, and noting the overwhelming public opposition evidenced through public consultation, Council reaffirm its position of December 18, 2013, that the City of Vancouver oppose the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain proposal as it poses an extreme risk to the people, businesses and environment of Vancouver, with very little benefit.
