THAT Council will go into a meeting later this day and/or on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, which is closed to the public, pursuant to Section 165.2(1) of the Vancouver Charter, to discuss matters related to paragraphs:
(a) personal information about an identifiable individual who holds or is being considered for a position as an officer, employee or agent of the city or another position appointed by the city;
(e) the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the Council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the city;

Council made the following appointments:
• Brian Jackson to the position of General Manager, Planning and Development Services, including the duties and powers delegated to the Director of Planning;
• Carli Edwards, P.Eng., as the Deputy Chief Building Official (Inspection Services), effective immediately;
• Wayne White as the Deputy City Electrician, effective immediately;
• Kandiah Pavananthan, P.Eng., as the Deputy Chief Building Official (Permitting Services) during the absence of the current Deputy Chief Building Official (Permitting Services) from August 6, 2012 to September 4, 2012.
