At the Regular Council meeting on July 21, 2009, Council referred the above-noted Administrative Report to the City Services and Budgets meeting on July 23, 2009, in order to receive clarification from staff on the reintroduction of the retaining wall on Cambie Street into the north lawn improvement project.

Subsequently, on July 23, 2009, due to time constraints, Council postponed this report to the Special Standing Committee on City Services and Budgets meeting on July 28, 2009.

At the Standing Committee on Planning and Environment meeting on July 23, 2009, Council heard from speakers on the above-noted Policy report and, due to time constraints, referred discussion and decision on this report to the Council meeting immediately following the Special Standing Committee on City Services and Budgets meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, as Unfinished Business.

The previously distributed Policy Report dated July 7, 2009 , refers (Limited Distribution to Council members only).

2. Cambie Corridor Planning Program Video Clip of this Item

3. Text Amendment: Laneway Housing in Single-Family Area Video Clip of this Item

At the Public Hearing held on July 21 and July 23, 2009, Vancouver City Council heard from speakers regarding an application to amend Single-Family District Schedules RS-1 and RS-5 of the Zoning and Development By-law to permit the development of laneway housing (LWH). The proposed amendments would regulate the location, height, and unit size of the laneway house.

The Public Hearing on this application was concluded and Council agreed to refer discussion and decision on this matter to the Regular Council immediately following the Special City Services and Budgets meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, as Unfinished Business.
