Tenders for the above were opened on June 18, 2003 and referred to the General Manager of Engineering Services and the Manager of Materials Management for report.
The PST, the 7% GST (less any municipal rebate received) and any Provincial Environmental Levy are in addition to the pricing shown in this report.
This tender called for prices for eight (8) Conventional Cab and Chassis Tandem Axle trucks. The Tandem axle trucks are required to replace existing units used by the Streets and Water Branches. This tender was advertised on the internet.
Eight bids were received with base unit prices ranging from $92,475.00 to $126,648.60
· Bid 1 does not meet the minimum gross vehicle weight capacity rating specification requirements in addition to a number of other minor areas and therefore is not acceptable.
· Bid 2 from Freightliner of Vancouver meets specifications, is acceptable and recommended.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
The existing units are scheduled for replacement in the 2003 Annual Equipment Replacement programs. Funds for the purchase of these units are provided from the Truck and Equipment Plant Account.
