Authority to Attend Conference in San Diego, California

RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council authorize Councillor Gordon Price to attend "New Partners for Smart Growth: Building Safe, Healthy, and Livable Communities", January 24-27, 2002, in San Diego, California, at an estimated cost of $1,360.00 Cdn.

CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS

The City Manager submits the recommendation for Council's CONSIDERATION.

COUNCIL POLICY

Council's travel policy, approved July 31, 1992, requires Council's approval to expend Travel and Training funds outside the GVRD, within North America.

PURPOSE

This report requests approval for Councillor Price to be on City business for four days to attend the "New Partners for Smart Growth" Conference, while he is in San Diego, California later this month.

DISCUSSION

The estimated cost is $1360.00 Cdn. Funds are available in Council's travel account.
