Dedication of a Portion of City-owned Land for Lane - 546 Prior St.
RECOMMENDATION
A. THAT Council approve the dedication of the south 10 feet of City-owned Lot 5, Block 107, District Lot 196, Plan 196 for lane purposes.
B. THAT Council authorize the Director of Legal Services to execute the subdivision plan on behalf of the City.

The General Manager of Corporate Services RECOMMENDS approval of A and B.
COUNCIL POLICY
Council approval is required for dedications and subdivision of City-owned land.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this report is to seek Council authorization to dedicate the south 10 feet of this City-owned Lot 9 for lane purposes (Appendix A).
BACKGROUND
On December 31, 1998 this property was transferred to the City through tax sale. The property was developed with a condemned apartment building and the City arranged for its demolition.
PRESENT SITUATION
The property is presently held in the Property Endowment Fund. The City Engineer requires the south 10 feet be dedicated for lane purposes before disposition of this property. As the survey in this area dates back to the 1800's it is now necessary to redefine the site boundaries and apply for subdivision to dedicate the lane portion. In order to dispose of this property and recover some of the demolition expenses the Manager of Real Estate Services is in favour of dedicating the lane portion.
