Adoption of Minutes of July 22 and 29, 1999.

1. 1999 Diversity Initiatives Grants: First Deadline File: 2051

RTS: 799

THAT Council approve Diversity Initiative grants totalling $19,000 to the following three groups, source of funds to be the Diversity Initiatives grants component of the 1999 Cultural Grants budget:

Curious Tongue (Touchstone Theatre): $8,000
Rumble Productions: $8,000
Society for the Development of Latin American Culture: $3,000

Approval of the foregoing recommendation will leave an unallocated balance of $41,000 in the Diversity Initiatives budget for the second program deadline in October.

2. Street Banner Policy File: 5766

THAT the Street Banner Policy be referred to a future meeting to afford delegations adequate time to appear.

3. Allocation of 1999 Cross-Cultural Expertise Grant File: 2401

RTS: 952

THAT Council approve a Cross-Cultural Expertise Grant of $18,000 to Women Against Violence Against Women (WAVAW), in partnership with the Aboriginal Women’s Action Network, the source of funds being a $20,000 reserve in the 1999 Community Services Grants Budget.
