The following recommendations of the Standing Committee on Transportation and Traffic were adopted by Vancouver City Council at its meeting immediately following the Standing Committee meeting.
1. 1999 Traffic Signal Program File: 5761
A. THAT Council approve the 1999 Traffic Signal Program, and that the General Manager of Engineering Services be authorized to install and modify pedestrian and traffic signals, as described in this report, and set out below:
Pedestrian-Actuated Signals
A1) Granville & 13th Avenue
A2) Hastings & Lakewood
A3) Fraser & 47th
A4) Victoria & Prestwick
A5) Kingsway & Glen
A6) King Edward & St. George
A7) Macdonald & Alamein
Full Signals
B1) Macdonald & Point Grey
B2) 1st Ave & Hwy #1 on-ramp
Signal Modifications;
FURTHER THAT additional annual costs of $20,000 related to ongoing maintenance be reflected in future Operating Budgets, without offset.
B. THAT staff be instructed to meet with the neighbourhood adjacent Alberta and 41st Avenue to examine the installation of a crosswalk at either Alberta or Elizabeth at 41st Avenue in conjunction with raising the priority of that intersection;
FURTHER THAT staff report back, at the appropriate time, on additional funding required to install a pedestrian-actuated signal at the chosen intersection.
2. TransLink: Regional Strategic Transportation Plan File: 5562
THAT the Administrative Report dated April 30, 1999, from the General Manager of Engineering Services be received for information.
