There is no applicable Council policy.

BACKGROUND

The Lower Mainland Municipal Association (LMMA) has adopted a new Fee Schedule for 1999 (Appendix A), that will be included in the agenda for discussion at the LMMA February  17, 1999 Extraordinary Meeting in Richmond. Previously, all municipalities were charged a flat fee of $100.

The intent of the Meeting is to adopt the Business Plan, which was presented at the UBCM luncheon and of which City Council already have a copy, and the proposed new fees in order to provide the LMMA with a renovated and more efficient organization.

LMMA is requesting City Council to direct staff to include the new fees for the City in the 1999 Budget, although the new fees will become effective only if they are ratified by the majority of members attending the said Extraordinary Meeting.

APPENDIX A

LMMA - SCHEDULE 2
Proposed LMMA Fee Schedule

1) Annual Dues for a population under 5,000 are $150.00

2) Annual dues for a population from 5,001 to 50,000 are $300.00

3) Annual dues for a population from 50,001 to $100,000 are $500.00

4) Annual dues for a population over 100,000 are $1,000.00
