SUBJECT: Extension of Combined Development and Building Permit

No. DB403077 - 7011 Angus Drive

RECOMMENDATION

THAT City Council approve an extension of Combined Development and Building Permit No. DB403077 until March 27, 1998, subject to the site being maintained in a tidy condition.

GENERAL MANAGER'S COMMENTS

The General Manager of Community Services RECOMMENDS approval of the foregoing.

COUNCIL POLICY

Article 1.11.5.1 of the Building By-law prohibits the City Building Inspector from granting more than one extension to a Building Permit. Any further extensions can only be approved by City Council.

DISCUSSION

The above permit is for the construction of a new one family dwelling and a detached four-car garage having vehicular access from the lane.

The existing one family dwelling on this site has been demolished.

This permit was previously extended and expired on September 27, 1997.

There has been no change to the zoning for the property (RS-6). The Planning Department has no objection to the extension.

It should be noted that this report was delayed as the property was untidy and overgrown. It has now been cleaned up to my satisfaction. I recommend that if an extension is approved, it should be subject to the site being maintained in a tidy condition.
