CITY OF VANCOUVER SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Vancouver was held on Tuesday, December 12, 1995 at 2:05 p.m., in the Council Chamber, third floor, Vancouver City Hall, for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Heritage By-law. Bellamy, SECONDED by Cllr. Kennedy, THAT this Council resolve itself into Committee of the Whole, Mayor Owen in the Chair, to consider proposed amendments to the Heritage By- law. - CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 1. 2622 West 5th Avenue (Lot B, Block 14, District Lot 192, Plan 4461) An application by Liam Robinson and Coleen Mar/Broadway Architects was considered as follows: The proposed amendment to the Heritage By-law would: - designate the principal facades of the existing building listed in the "B" evaluation category on the Vancouver Heritage Register as protected heritage property; - ensure the protection of the building from inappropriate alterations and demolition in the future; and - be in exchange for approval of a relaxations to the floor space ratio from 0.75 FSR to 0.93 FSR. cont'd.... Clause No. 1 (cont'd) The Director of Land Use and Development recommended approval of this application. Staff Comments Mr. Robert Lemon, Senior Heritage Planner, offered no additional comments on this application. Summary of Correspondence There was no correspondence received on this application. THAT Council support a floor space relaxation of 46.82 m› (504 sq.ft.) from 0.75 FSR to 0.93 FSR as proposed in Development Application DE400250. B. THAT Council approve the designation 2622 West 5th Avenue, listed on the Vancouver Heritage Register in the "B" evaluation category, as a protected heritage property. - CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 2. 3143 Crown Street (Lot 10 [except E. 7 ft. now road] of Lot 3 Block 166, District Lot 540, Plan 4598) An application by Barry and Ursula MacLeod was considered as follows: The proposed amendment to the Heritage By-law would: - designate the existing building listed in the "C" evaluation category on the Vancouver Heritage Register as protected heritage property; and cont'd.... Clause No. 2 (cont'd) - ensure the protection of the building from inappropriate alterations and demolition in the future. The Director of Land Use and Development recommended approval of this application.
