INAUGURAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

December 6, 1999

The Inaugural Meeting of the Council of the City of Vancouver was held on Monday, December 6, 1999 at 2:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber, Third Floor, City Hall.

Mayor-Elect Owen, preceded by a Mace-bearer, entered the Council Chamber, accompanied by the Honourable Mr. Justice W.T. Oppal, of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Reverend Dr. Harry S.D. Robinson.

OATHS OF OFFICE

The Honourable Mr. Justice W.T. Oppal administered the Oath of Office to Mayor-Elect Owen, and then to the following Councillors-Elect:

The Council was called to order, and the City Clerk called the Roll and announced all members were present.

The Reverend Dr. Harry S. D. Robinson offered the Invocation Prayer.

1. INAUGURAL ADDRESS

Mayor Owen presented his Inaugural Address. In his address, the Mayor outlined a number of priority items which Council should consider in the coming year.
