ADOPTION OF MINUTES

RECOMMENDATION

1. 599 Columbia Street (DE404462) - Proposed Pagoda/Teahouse File: 2604

Clause Number 1 Continued

RECOMMENDED

THAT Council advise the Development Permit Board that it supports in principle the pagoda proposal for the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park at Keefer and Columbia Streets generally as submitted by Joe Wai Architects under DE404462 including the height of the proposal; and

FURTHER THAT Council extend thanks to the anonymous donor for his/her generous donation which will contribute to the revitalization of the Chinatown area and the betterment of Vancouver as a whole.

2. Grant to 'Save Our Living Environment' File: 2251

Clause Number 2 Continued

RECOMMENDED

THAT Council approve a grant of $50,000 for twelve (12) months to Save Our Living Environment (SOLE) for the micro cleaning of city sidewalks, lanes and parks in the Downtown Eastside, Gastown and Chinatown as outlined in the Administrative Report dated October 4, 1999, with funding provided by the Solid Waste Capital Reserve.
