SUBJECT:Authority to Travel to Stratford, Ontario, to attend the Crime Prevention & Public Safety Committee meeting of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities - September 9-10, 1998

RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council authorize Councillor Don Bellamy to travel to Stratford, Ontario, to attend the Crime Prevention & Public Safety Committee Meeting of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, at an estimated cost of $1,385.

CITY MANAGER’S COMMENTS

The City Manager RECOMMENDS approval of the foregoing.

COUNCIL POLICY

Council’s travel policy, approved July 31, 1992, requires Council approval for travel within North America.

PURPOSE

This report requests approval for Councillor Bellamy to travel to Stratford, Ontario for the Crime Prevention & Public Safety Committee Meeting of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), September 9-10, 1998. Councillor Bellamy is a member of the Crime Prevention & Public Safety Committee of the FCM.

DISCUSSION

The estimated cost for travel and accommodation is $1,385.

Funds are available in Council’s travel account.
