RECOMMENDATION

THAT City Council approve an extension of Building Permit No. BU405628 until September 3, 1998.

GENERAL MANAGER'S COMMENTS

The General Manager of Community Services RECOMMENDS approval of the foregoing.

COUNCIL POLICY

Article 1.11.5.1 of the Building By-law prohibits the City Building Inspector from granting more than one extension to a Building Permit. Any further extensions can only be approved by City Council.

DISCUSSION

The above permit is for exterior and interior alterations to commercial strata lot 244 (970 Burrard Street) to provide shell space for future commercial suites located in the lower six levels of the existing building.

This permit was previously extended and expired on March 3, 1998.

There has been no change to the zoning for this property (CD-1). Related Development Permit No. DE401830 (for the exterior alterations) is valid as long as this Building Permit is active. The Planning Department has no objection to the extension.
