Building Board of Appeal Membership
RECOMMENDATION
THAT Messrs. Paul LaBranche, Dan Funaro and J.D. Lovick be appointed to the Building Board of Appeal for a period of three (3) years, expiring June 30, 2001.
GENERAL MANAGER'S COMMENTS
The General Manager of Community Services RECOMMENDS approval of the foregoing.
COUNCIL POLICY
The Building Board of Appeal consists of eight (8) members nominated from specific organizations as follows:
a) Architectural Institute of British Columbia,
b) Association of Professional Engineers of British Columbia, (Structural),
c) The Association of Professional Engineers of British Columbia (Mechanical or Electrical),
d) Amalgamated Construction Association of B.C.,
e) Greater Vancouver Home Builders' Association,
f) Insurers' Advisory Organization Inc.,
g) The Law Society of British Columbia, and
h) a representative of a self-supporting association located within the Greater Vancouver region chiefly concerned with the economic or social interests of "Building Users" but generally independent of the interest of building owners and regulatory authorities.
PURPOSE
The following members of the Building Board of Appeal will have completed their three (3) year terms on June 30, 1998:
NAME REPRESENTING
Mr. Don Osterhout Building Owners' & Managers' Association, BC
Mr. J.D. Lovick Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of BC
Mr. Joseph Chan Greataer Vancouver Home Builders' Association
The organizations involved have been contacted and they have responded by recommending the following:
a) Mr. Paul LaBranche be appointed as representative from the Building Owners' & Managers' Association, BC
b) Mr. J.D. Lovick be reappointed as representative from the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of BC (Electrical)
c) Mr. Dan Funaro be appointed as representative from the Greater Vancouver Home Builders' Association.
