SUBJECT: RICHMOND RAPIDBUS

This is further to my memo of February 17 on the above subject. There has been significant negative public reaction to BC Transit’s RapidBus proposal for the Granville corridor. As a result, BC Transit is taking the time to develop potential solutions that may be acceptable to the merchants and residents and still meet the needs of BC Transit. Therefore, the March 26 evening date subsequently set for Council review of this matter is deferred.

Implementation of any transit priority measures will require a Council decision. Therefore, staff will continue to work with BC Transit on this matter and will advise you when some workable options have been developed requiring Council review and approval.
