Re:City Participation in Investigation of Gastown Collective
At its meeting on February 11, 1998, the Gastown Historic Area Planning Committee (GHAPC) discussed the Administrative Report, dated January 29, 1998 on City Participation in Investigation of Gastown Collective.
The Committee noted the Report had been scheduled for consideration at Vancouver City Councils meeting on February 3, however, at GHPACs request, was referred to a future Council meeting to allow the Committee to comment.
The Committee agreed it generally supports the proposed study as well as any future commitments to assist private owners in the conservation of designated heritage buildings.
It then
RECOMMENDED
A.THAT the Gastown Historic Area Planning Committee supports the Citys cost-shared funding of the project.
B.THAT the Gastown Historic Area Planning Committee also supports all Council initiatives, such as heritage retention studies, supplementary financing, tax incentives or other programs shared with the provincial government, to assist private conservation of designated heritage buildings.
