The City Manager submits this report for INFORMATION.
COUNCIL POLICY
There is no Council Policy applicable to this matter.
Section 120 of the Vancouver Charter provides that within 30 days after
the declaration of official results the Chief Election Officer must
submit a report of the election results to Council.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this report is to advise Council of the results of the
1996 General Local Elections held on Saturday, November 16, 1996.
ELECTION RESULTS
The following candidates were declared elected by the Chief Elections
Officer on Wednesday, November 20, 1996, having received the highest

The City Clerk will be reporting separately in the New Year on other
issues related to the experience of the 1996 Local Governnment
Elections, including recommendations to amend the Vancouver Charter
regarding the qualifications to be nominated for office and the
nomination procedures.
