                                            MOTION

        At  the Special  Council (Court  of Revision)  meeting on  June 11,
   1996, Notice  was called on  the following motion and  recognized by the
   Chair:


   1.   Local Improvements Process

   MOVED by Cllr. Nancy A. Chiavario,
   SECONDED by Cllr. Sam Sullivan,
        THAT the review being conducted by  staff of the Court of  Revision
   processes include  how to ensure all  possible options are clear  in the
   petitions, notifications and initiatives, such as allowing residents and
   owners  choices  of  lane  paving  which  are  more  cost-effective  and
   environmentally sensitive;

        AND THAT changes to the processes be implemented for the next Court
   of Revision;

        FURTHER THAT staff  report back  to Council on  the changes  before
   implementation;

        AND FURTHER  THAT Engineering  Services staff  report  back on  how
   Council might adopt standards for street, lane and sidewalk paving which
   may be more cost effective and environmentally sensitive.
