On April 28, 2022, Council heard and received a combined presentation from staff, asked two rounds of questions to staff and began hearing from registered public speakers.

This is a Special Council meeting called by the Mayor under section 2.5(a) and 14.5 of the Procedure By-law for the purposes of hearing from speakers on public safety and violent crime citywide.

1. Public Safety and Violent Crime Citywide
Karen Levitt, Deputy City Manager, will provide an introduction and the following City of Vancouver departments will be presenting overviews:

External agencies are now part of the public list to better align with standard Council practice.
i.e. Council will hear from the public following staff presentations.
a) Homelessness Outreach Team and Social Policy
b) Streets and Sanitation
c) The Vancouver Police Department and Vancouver Police Board
d) The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation
