Verbal Briefing - Downtown Eastside Library
Penny Ballem, City Manager, provided an overview of the issues related to the request to consider options for providing housing above the future new Downtown Eastside Library, including an update on discussions with BC Housing in this regard. Dr. Ballem, along with Paul Whitney, City Librarian, David McLellan, General Manager of Community Services, and Diana Guinn, Director, Neighbourhood and Youth Services, Vancouver Public Library, responded to questions, and agreed to provide an information memo to Council outlining the options and related implications.
Verbal Briefing - Imperial Oil Fuelling Centre in False Creek
Jeff Greenberg, Assistant Director – Administration, Legal Services, and Penny Ballem, City Manager, provided an overview of the status of the fuelling station barge in False Creek at Burrard Marina, which is currently sub-leased to Imperial Oil, and sought Council’s feedback with regard to negotiations with Imperial Oil and False Creek Fuels in regard to the future operation of the fuelling station.
