DECISIONS AND REPORTS RELEASED

 

 

LiveCity Vancouver-Award of Sub Contracts

A. THAT Council authorise Live Nation Canada, Inc., acting as general contractor for the LiveCity Vancouver project, to award a contract to Symmetry Construction for site preparation, construction and remediation at a total cost not to exceed $954,610 plus GST as outlined in the Administrative Report “LiveCity Vancouver-Award of Sub Contracts”, dated August 15, 2009; source of funding to be the previously-approved $18 million LiveCity Vancouver project budget.

B. THAT Council authorise Live Nation Canada, Inc., acting as general contractor for the LiveCity Vancouver project, to award a contract to Champagne Edition Inc. for delivery, supply, installation and removal of Eco-Flex rubber tile at a total cost not to exceed $445,500 plus GST as outlined in the above-noted report; source of funding to be the previously-approved $18 million LiveCity Vancouver project budget.

C. THAT Council authorise Live Nation Canada, Inc. acting as general contractor for the LiveCity Vancouver project, to award a contract to Panther Constructors Limited for design, construction, and materials required for standard electrical and mechanical site services at a total cost not to exceed $1,625,520 plus GST as outlined in the above-noted report; source of funding to be the previously-approved $18 million LiveCity Vancouver project budget.

D. FURTHER THAT Council authorise Live Nation Canada Inc., acting as general contractor for the LiveCity Vancouver project, to award a further contract to Panther Constructors Limited for design, construction, and materials required to provide for additional electrical and mechanical site services for LiveCity sponsors at a total cost not to exceed $850,310 plus GST as outlined in the above-noted report; to be financed by the previously-approved $18 million LiveCity Vancouver project budget and reimbursed to the project budget by LiveCity Sponsors in accordance with their sponsorship agreements.

E. THAT Council direct City staff to work with Live Nation Canada Inc., acting as general contractor for the LiveCity Vancouver project, to continue to negotiate with the contractors referenced in A through D above to ensure the best possible price prior to concluding a contract to the satisfaction of the General Manager of Olympic Operations and Executive Producer, LiveCity Vancouver (Managing Director of Cultural Services).

F. THAT Council authorise the General Manager of Olympic Operations and Executive Producer, LiveCity Vancouver (Managing Director of Cultural Services) to approve terms and conditions in consultation with the Director of Legal Services for the contracts set out in A through D above.

G. THAT no legal rights or obligations will be created by Council’s adoption of A through D above, unless and until such legal documents are executed and delivered by Live Nations Canada Inc. to the Executive Producer, LiveCity Vancouver (Managing Director of Cultural Services).

H. THAT Council authorise the City Manager, in consultation with the General Managers of Olympic and Paralympic Operations, Intergovernmental Relations and Strategic Partnerships and Legal Services, to conclude negotiations with the Federal Government to make such adjustments to the LiveCity Vancouver/Vancouver House projects as required including the reduction in scope to one site for each of the Olympic and Paralympic Games if necessary, and to conclude arrangements necessary to implement the LiveCity Vancouver/Vancouver House project generally under the budget established pursuant to RTS#07950 (March 24, 2009) and subject to the City’s senior management oversight and contractual controls on the production firm.
