Appointment of Park Board Representative to PNE Board
THAT Council appoint Commissioner Raj Hundal as the Park Board Representative on the Pacific National Exhibition Board of Directors.

Appointment to Advisory Bodies
A. THAT the following individual representing the Planning Institute of British Columbia be appointed to the Chinatown Historic Area Planning Committee for a term to commence immediately and end on December 7, 2009:

B. THAT the following individual be appointed to the Chinatown Historic Area Planning Committee for a term to commence immediately and end on December 6, 2010:
Fred Kwok
C. THAT the following individual representing the Vancouver Heritage Commission be appointed to the First Shaughnessy Advisory Design Panel for a term to commence immediately and end on December 5, 2011:

Lease Renewal of 1808 West 5th to Fifth Avenue Dental Centre
THAT Council approve a lease renewal to Fifth Avenue Dental Centre for the premises situated at 1808 West 5th Avenue legally described as PID 007-438-257 Lot B Block 267 District Lot 526 Plan 16565; on the following terms and conditions:
Term: Five (5) years commencing on October 1, 2009, plus one 5 –year renewal option.
Option to Renew: One five (5) year option to renew on the same terms and conditions save and except rent which is to be at the then market rate and the cancellation clause which will be the standard one year notice of termination by either party.
Cancellation clause: At the beginning of the second year of the term and upon giving the tenant one years written notice of cancellation.
Rent : The Gross rent plus GST, all to be credited to PEF, includes an amount for taxes in lieu, is to be set as follows;

Use: The premises are to be used for a dental clinic and office.
Other Terms: all other general terms of the current lease to apply to the new lease; all to be drawn to the satisfaction of the Directors of Legal Services and Real Estate Services; it being noted that no legal right or obligation is created and none shall arise hereafter until the execution of the lease documents.

Verbal Briefing: Form of Development Considerations
Ben Parkin, Assistant Director - General Litigation, Legal Services, provided an update on Form of Development considerations in relation to a development application and, together with Penny Ballem, City Manager, Brent Toderian, Director of Planning and Vickie Potter, Assistant Director, Development Services, responded to questions. The City Manager advised that staff will report back on this matter at an In Camera meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2009.
