Appointment of Deputy Collector of Taxes

THAT Council appoint Marty Radakovich to the Deputy Collector of Taxes position, effective March 24, 2009.

The Administrative Report dated February 27, 2009 , refers.

Lease Renewal to Bordignon Marble & Granite Ltd at 1670 West 5th Avenue

THAT Council approve a lease renewal of the warehouse premises situated at 1670 West 5th Avenue to Bordignon Marble & Granite Ltd, legally described as Lots 17 & 18 except the Vancouver and Lulu Island Railway R.O.W. shown on miscellaneous Plan 218, Blk 269, DL 526, Plan 590 and Lots 3 & 4, Blk 269, DL 526, Plan 590, on the following terms and conditions:

Terms:
The term of the lease will be for three (3) years, commencing April 1, 2009.

Option to Renew:
One three (3) year option to renew on the same terms and conditions save and except rent which is to be at then market rates.

Cancellation Clause:
There is a twelve (12) month notice of cancellation in the lease in favour of the City for any reason.

Rent:
The Gross rent plus GST, all to be credited to the PEF, includes an amount for taxes-in lieu, is to be set as follows:

Use:
The premises are to be used for office/showroom and manufacturing/warehouse space.

Other Terms:
The terms and conditions of the lease are to be drawn to the satisfaction of the Director of Legal Services and the Director Real Estate Services, it being noted that no legal right or obligation shall arise or be created until the execution of the lease.

Property Acquisition for Future Road Widening on Joyce Street north of Vanness Avenue – 4945 Joyce Street

THAT Council authorize the Director of Real Estate Services to proceed with the acquisition of 21.5 square metres of land from 4945 Joyce Street, legally described as Parcel Identifier 003-108-902: Lot 16, except the West 10 feet Now Road, Blocks 17, 47 and 48, District Lots 36 and 51, Plan 2620 at a cost of $26,800; funding to be provided from Streets 2006-2008 Capital Plan A4E Property Fund.

No legal rights or obligations shall arise or be created until all legal documentation is fully executed on terms and conditions to the satisfaction of the director of Legal Services.
