Appointment of General Manager of Finance

THAT City Council formally endorse and confirm hiring of the leading candidate Ms. Patrice Impey, recommended by the selection committee chaired by the City Manager, for the position of General Manager, Financial Services/Chief Financial Officer.

Verbal Briefing – Closed Circuit TV – Legal Aspects

Kevin Wallinger, Director of Emergency Management, provided a verbal briefing on legal issues concerning closed circuit television infrastructure (CCTV), including a review of proposed 2010 CCTV deployment and funding initiatives. Mr. Wallinger and Penny Ballem, City Manager, responded to questions, and noted a report would be forwarded to an upcoming Standing Committee meeting.

Verbal Briefing – Live Sites

Sue Harvey, Director, Cultural Services, provided a verbal briefing on the status of the 2010 “Live Sites” which have been renamed as “Live City Vancouver”, and noted a report to Council would be forthcoming at an upcoming Regular Council meeting. Ms. Harvey, along with Dave Rudberg, General Manager, Olympic and Paralympic Operations, responded to questions concerning the Live City sites.
