SUBJECT:
Parking By-Law: Housekeeping Amendment for MC-1 and MC-2
THAT Section 4.2.1.3 of Parking Bylaw No. 6059 be amended to include MC-1 and MC-2 in column 1, treating parking for multiple dwelling use the same in C and RM-3 Districts.
The General Manager recommends approval of the foregoing.
The City Manager recommends approval of the foregoing.
There is no applicable Council Policy.
The purpose of this report is to amend the Parking By-Law to correct on oversight.
The MC-1 and MC-2 District Schedule permits residential, commercial and light industrial uses alone or in a mixed use form. In 1998 significant revisions to the Schedule were made, including adding multiple dwelling as a conditional use. Unfortunately, through an oversight, the consequential amendment to add the District to the relevant section of the Parking Bylaw that governs requirements for multiple dwellings was not made at that time. Staff recommend that MC-1 and MC-2 be added to Section 4.2.1.3 of the Parking Bylaw.
There are no financial implications.
CONCLUSION
Through the recommended amendment, the Parking By-Law will address the requirement for multiple dwellings in MC-1 and MC-2, correcting an earlier oversight.
