RECOMMENDATION
THAT Council authorize payment for Councillor Jim Green to travel to Toronto, ON to attend the Creative Places + Spaces on October 16-18, 2003.
CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS
The City Manager submits the recommendation for Council's CONSIDERATION.
COUNCIL POLICY
Current City Business Travel Policy, approved July 31, 1992, requires Council's approval for travel within North America.
PURPOSE
This report requests approval for Councillor Jim Green to attend the Creative Places + Spaces Conference. Councillor Green is the newly appointed Chair of the Arts, Cultural and Heritage Committee of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the conference is specifically to do with the economic impact of arts and cultural creativities on municipalities. The conference is co-hosted by Jane Jacobs and Glen Murray, Mayor of Winnipeg. A City of Vancouver Cultural Planner is one of the Presenters.
