Proposal:
_ To amend the existing CD-1 to redevelop the site with 299 units of housing for seniors. Redevelopment would occur in 3 phases, beginning at the east side of the site. The first phase would include 90 affordable rental, independent living units, and existing residents would be relocated to other buildings on and off site as the site is redeveloped. The second phase at the centre of the site would provided 91 rental units with funding being pursued under the BCHMC Independent Living BC Program. The third phase along Rupert Street would comprise of 118 independent living or congregate housing rental units depending on the funding sources available in the future. An overall density of 1.45 is proposed and building heights would range from 3 storeys along Cassiar to a maximum 8 storeys along Rupert (only 4 storeys above street level). A total of 130 underground parking spaces would be provided by completion of the entire project.Issues:
