SUBJECT: Authority to Travel to Amsterdam from August 20 to September 2, 2003

RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council authorize payment for Councillor David Cadman to travel to Amsterdam, to participate in Federation of Canadian Municipalities' 2003 Community Energy Planning Mission.

The City Manager submits the foregoing for Council's CONSIDERATION.

COUNCIL POLICY

Current City Business Travel Policy, approved July 31, 1992, requires Council's approval for travel outside North America.

PURPOSE

This report requests approval for Councillor David Cadman to travel on City Business from Vancouver to Amsterdam for a period of fourteen (14) days to attend the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' 2003 Community Energy Planning Mission, as background for Vancouver's Cool Vancouver Task Force and Public Process in the Fall, 2003.
