PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENT MEETINGOCTOBER 24, 2002
DECISIONS

at 604.871.6353 (e-mail laura_kazakoff@city.vancouver.bc.ca)At its meeting immediately following the Standing Committee on Planning and Environment meeting on September 12, 2002, Vancouver City Council approved the following.
1. Warning to Prospective Purchasers of 975 Ringwood Avenue
A. THAT the City Clerk be directed to file a 336D Notice against the title to the property at 975 Ringwood Avenue (Lot 38 W 33 ft, Block 15 E Hlf, District Lots 391 & 392, Plan 1983) in order to warn prospective purchasers that there are contraventions of the Zoning and Development,Vancouver Building and Electrical By-laws and Provincial Gas Safety Act and Regulations related to this building.
B. THAT the Director of Legal Services is hereby authorized, in her discretion, to commence a legal action or proceeding in relation to the premises located at 975 Ringwood Avenue and may, in her discretion, seek injunctive relief in that action or proceeding, in order to bring this building into compliance with City By-laws.
2. Proposed Amendment to Subdivision By-law No. 5208
THAT Council approve the application to reclassify the property at 8190 Chester Street from Category B to Category A of Schedule A, Table 1, of Subdivision By-law No. 5208
3. Promotional Inserts from Outside Recycling Organizations in the 2003 Garbage and Recycling Collection Calendar Mailing
A. THAT Council approve the insertion of promotional material from the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation in our 2003 garbage and recycling collection calendar mailing.
B. THAT Council approve the insertion of a single sheet of promotional material, at the discretion of Engineering Services staff, for non-profit/charitable organizations which operate clothing recycling programs, in our 2003 garbage and recycling collection calendar mailing.
4. Additions to the Major Road Network
THAT Council request the addition of Burrard Street from Hastings Street to Broadway to the Major Road Network (MRN), including the extensions of existing MRN streets (Hastings, Nelson and Smithe) to Burrard Street, and forward this information to the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority (GVTA).
