2921 Kingsway
Request for Rescinding of Council's Order to Demolish

On September 12th, 2002, Council passed a resolution declaring this abandoned building (One-Family Dwelling) a nuisance and dangerous to public safety, requiring the building to be demolished, debris to be removed and to provide a chain-link fence around the perimeter of the site.

This is in response to Mr. Sherman Lim's letter of September 30th, 2002, to appear before Council to request that this resolution of Council be rescinded.

The District Property Use Inspector reports that the garage and storage shed have been demolished, and that the site has been cleaned up and fenced. Peter Sweeney, Manager, Building Inspection has spoken with the contractor Mr. McNamara, whom confirmed that they have been contracted by Mr. Lim to carry out the repairs and renovations to this building.

This is to inform Council that the resolution of September 12th, 2002, would have to be rescinded to allow the issuance of permits to carry out the work to this building.
