CITY OF VANCOUVER
OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR

M E M O R A N D U M 21 June, 2002

TO: Mayor & Council

FROM: Don Lee

SUBJECT: Canadian Chinese Entrepreneurs Mexico Trade Committee

Along with eight other business associations from the Lower Mainland, the Canadian Chinese Entrepreneurs Mexico Trade Committee (CCEMTC) was formed last year as a working committee to coordinate the promotional aspects of businesses with Mexican counterparts for the Chinese Entrepreneurs Society of Canada.

CCEMTC has invited a trade delegation from the Lower Mainland to visit Mexico from August 17-25, 2002, in conjunction with the Mexican APEC Business Forum 2002, in order to give Canadian business people and municipal leaders an opportunity to participate in the establishment of bilateral trade opportunities between the two countries.

I have been invited to attend the Conference as Deputy Mayor & representative of the City of Vancouver. All expenses incurred for my attendance at this Conference will be borne by myself, and I will be pleased to report back to Council on the outcome of this Conference upon my return.
