RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council authorize Councillor Gordon Price to attend "The Congress for New Urbanism", June 13-16, 2002 in Miami Beach, Florida, at an estimated cost of $3,661.00 Cdn.

CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS

The City Manager submits the recommendation for Council's CONSIDERATION.

COUNCIL POLICY

Council's travel policy, approved July 31, 1992, requires Council's approval to expend Travel and Training funds outside the GVRD, within North America.

PURPOSE

This report requests approval for Councillor Price to travel on City business from Vancouver to Miami Beach, Florida, June 13-16, 2002 in order to attend the Congress for the New Urbanism Conference. Councillor Price will be giving presentations to the City Planning staff and GVRD on the content of the conference.

DISCUSSION

The estimated cost is $3,661. Cdn. Funds are available in Council's travel account.
