COUNCIL POLICY
There is no policy directly related to this issue.
PURPOSE
Sunset Grill Ltd., is requesting a Council resolution endorsing their request for a 55-seat Class `D' Neighbourhood Pub in conjunction with the existing Restaurant-Class 1 at the Sunset Grill, 2204 York Avenue.
BACKGROUND
Council considered this application and passed a similar motion on July 26, 2001.
The applicants will be meeting with the Licensing Committee of the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) in the near future, and have recently been informed that the original Council resolution did not conform to Branch policy. The resolution did not specifically mention that the area residents are in favour of this application, although the issue was part of the original review and discussion. The applicant has requested a modified Council resolution to meet LCLB policy.
CONCLUSION
Staff recommends that the revised recommendation presented in this report be adopted by Council in order for the applicants to receive consideration by the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch.
