SUBJECT: 2001 `Other' Grants Requests

Following the Standing Committee on City Services and Budgets meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2001, Vancouver City Council approved the following recommendations of the Committee:

A. THAT a grant of $ 48,504 to the Vancouver City Planning Commission be approved; source of funds to be the 2001 `OTHER' Grants Budget.

B. THAT a grant of $100,000 to the Vancouver Symphony Society to offset the rent payable under the lease with Civic Theatres for the period of January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2001 be approved; source of funds to be the 2001 Cultural Grant - Theatre Rent budget.

C. THAT a grant of $3,500 (2000 funding level) be approved to the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver; source of funds to be 2001 `OTHER' Grants budget.

Council also approved the Committee's recommendation to refer consideration of a grant to the SPCA - Vancouver Regional Branch as follows:

D. THAT the following consideration item be referred to the regular Council meeting on December 11, 2001, pending additional information:

THAT a grant of $27,887 be approved to the SPCA - Vancouver Regional Branch; source of funds to be 2001 `OTHER' Grants budget.

The previously distributed Administrative Report dated November 19, 2001, entitled "2001 `Other' Grants Requests" refers.
