SUBJECT:	Referral Report at Council Meeting September 18, 2001 - 910 Mainland Street

With respect to item P2 on today's Council agenda, at the request of the General Manager of Engineering Services, I wish to withdraw Recommendation B from the report.

If this text amendment were approved at Public Hearing, revised parking standards would have been established for the subject site.

A further staff review of this proposed new retail parking standard concluded that, in this downtown context and given there is a constraint on the amount of retail space in the building, the current standards in the Parking By-law are sufficient for development as outlined in the report. A Parking By-law amendment, as recommended in B, therefore, is not necessary.
