A conference entitled, "Developing Affordable Supportive Housing for Seniors", is a one day seminar being held on Monday, October 22, 2001 at the Westin Bayshore Inn.
The field of affordable supportive housing for seniors is becoming increasingly important as the population ages, and the Special Advisory Committee on Seniors wishes to send representatives to the conference. Members who participate will have an opportunity to learn from experts, exchange ideas, information and network with people in this area. The Committee believes the benefits gained from attendance will contribute to its overall mandate.
The attendance fee for government agencies is $425, plus GST per entry pass. The Committee wishes to purchase two admissions and members will share the passes.Vancouver City Council, on October 7, 1997, approved an annual allocation of $3,500 in the Operating Budget for local conference grant requests from Council appointed bodies without direct access to funding.
Therefore, the Special Advisory Committee on Seniors
RECOMMENDS
