Appointment of By-Law Process Server

RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council approve the appointment of Frederick James Johnson as a By-Law Process Server, to serve summons for infractions of City Bylaws, effective immediately.

GENERAL MANAGER'S COMMENTS

The General Manager of Corporate Services RECOMMENDS approval of the foregoing.

POLICY

There is no Council policy directly applicable to this matter. However, in accordance with Section 28(3) of the Offence Act, specific Council approval of this appointment is required.

DISCUSSION

The employee, Frederick James Johnson, has received the required clearances by the R.C.M.P. and the Vancouver Police Department. This appointment is needed to fill a permanent position.
