RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council authorize Councillor Jennifer Clarke to travel to Seattle, Washington, to attend the Seattle Mental Health Court Quarterly Continuum Meetings September 25 and 26, 2001 at an estimated cost of $ 975.00 CDN.

The City Manager submits the recommendation for Council's CONSIDERATION.

COUNCIL POLICY

Council's travel policy, approved July 31, 1992, requires Council's approval for travel within North America.

PURPOSE

This report requests approval for Councillor Jennifer Clarke to travel to Seattle, Washington to attend the Seattle Mental Health Court Quarterly Continuum Meetings September 25 and 26, 2001.

DISCUSSION

The estimated cost for registration, travel and accommodation is $ 975.00 CDN.

Registration Fee	Nil.
Hotel Accommodation (2 night at $129.00 + 15.6%tax USD)	$ 500.00 CDN
Mode of Travel - auto mileage	$ 250.00 CDN
Per Diem (3 days at $50.00 USD)	$ 225.00 CDN
TOTAL:	$ 975.00 CDN
