VANCOUVER HERITAGE COMMISSION

RECOMMENDATION
1. Conference Funding File: 3105-1/RTS: 1907
At its meeting on October 7, 1997, Vancouver City Council approved an annual allocation of $3,500 in the Operating Budget to be reserved for grant requests for local conference expenses from Council appointed bodies without direct access to funding.
The Vancouver Heritage Commission, at its February 12, 2001, meeting, discussed the benefits of educating Commissioners to better perform their duties. The workshop listed below would be particularly useful in aiding current and newly-appointed Commission members in the area of reviewing proposed developments:
"Implementing Heritage Conservation," SFU Downtown, February 23, 2001
- Cost - $160.50.One current Commission member has paid for the above workshop. The Commission agreed to request reimbursement for this Commissioner, and also for reimbursement for up to two newly-appointed Commissioners to attend the workshop, providing the appointments are made prior to the workshop date.
Therefore, the Commission,
RECOMMENDED
THAT Vancouver City Council be requested to approve funding up to $481.50 to send up to three Vancouver Heritage Commissioners to "Implementing Heritage Conservation Standards", a workshop taking place at Simon Fraser University -Harbour Centre in February 2001; source of funding to be the Local Conference Budget, overseen by the City Clerk.
