SUBJECT: Appointments to Civic Agencies

Due to the labour action this fall, the appointment procedure was delayed. The process for the appointments to Civic Agencies will be completed and presented to Council for consideration in early February, 2001.

An advertisement seeking volunteers for positions on the following Civic Agencies has been placed in local community newspapers:

… Fire and Rescue Services Advisory Committee
… Gastown Historic Area Planning Committee
… Public Art Committee
… Urban Design Panel
… Vancouver Athletic Commission
… Vancouver City Planning Commission
… Vancouver Civic Theatres Board
… Vancouver Economic Development Commission
… Vancouver Heritage Commission
… Vancouver Heritage Foundation Board
… Vancouver Public Library Board
… Youth Justice Committee

Information booklet describing the foregoing agencies.

The deadline for applications is Friday, January 12, 2001.

The current boards will continue to operate with their current membership until the new board members are appointed in February 2001.
