RECOMMENDATION
The General Manager of Corporate Services and Director of Finance submits this report to Council for INFORMATION
POLICY
In 1993, the Provincial Goverment changed the Vancouver Charter (section 196A) requiring the annual reporting of Council salaries and expenses in open Council.
PURPOSE
A report on Council expenditures must be submitted annually to Council. This report outlines the remuneration and expenses paid to Council members in 1999.

The following table outlines the remuneration and expenses paid to Council in 1999.

(1) This allowance is for reimbursement of local expenses incurred by Members of
Council in the discharge of their duties.
(2) The Mayor's automobile allowance is set out in the Expenses By-law approved by
City Council under Section 196 (1) of the Vancouver Charter.
(3) The travel and training expenses have been approved in open Council. These
expenses relate directly to the conduct of City Business as provided for in the
Expenses By-law for Members of Council.CONCLUSION
The foregoing information is presented to Council in open session in accordance with the requirements of the Vancouver Charter. Under those provisions, the City Clerk must make a copy of this report available for public inspection at City Hall during regular office hours, from the date the report is considered by Council until one year after that date.
