At the Council meeting of July 8, 1999, Councillor Kennedy noted Council has received a letter from the Vancouver Police Board dated June 28, 1999, advising Council of a resolution passed by the Board on June 23, 1999, regarding Rice Wine and its use in the Downtown Eastside. The Councillor requested Council consider formally endorsing this resolution.

The Mayor instructed that the Vancouver Police Board resolution regarding Rice Wine be brought forward for consideration at the July 20, 1999 Council meeting.

The relevant letter from the Vancouver Police Board is attached.
