RECOMMENDATION

THAT City Council approve an extension of Building Permit No. BU408322 for 3088 West 41st Avenue, until March 18, 2000.

GENERAL MANAGER'S COMMENTS

The General Manager of Community Services RECOMMENDS approval of the foregoing.

COUNCIL POLICY

Article 1.11.5.1 of the Building By-law prohibits the City Building Inspector from granting more than one extension to a Building Permit. Any further extensions can only be approved by City Council.

DISCUSSION

The Building Permit No. BU408322 was issued on September 18, 1998 for the construction of a four-storey multiple dwelling (senior citizen's housing) containing 58 dwelling units and a caretaker's unit with one level of underground parking on this vacant site at 3088 West 41st Avenue.

The permit was previously extended and will expire on September 18, 1999.

There has been no change to the zoning for the property (CD-1). Related Development Permit No. DE402672 is valid as long as this Building Permit is active. The Planning Department has no objection to the extension.
