SUBJECT:	Authority to Travel from Amsterdam to Frankfurt - July 25 - 26, 2000

RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council authorize Councillor Jennifer Clarke to travel from Amsterdam to Frankfurt from July 25 - 26, 2000, to tour the City of Frankfurt's Drug Treatment facilities, at an estimated cost of $1,081.

CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS

The City Manager submits the recommendation for Council's CONSIDERATION.

COUNCIL POLICY

Council's travel policy, approved July 31, 1992, requires Council's approval for travel outside North America.

PURPOSE

This report requests approval for Councillor Clarke to travel on City business from Amsterdam to Frankfurt from July 25 - 26, in order to tour the City of Frankfurt's Drug Treatment facilities. (Councillor Clarke will already be in Europe on vacation, rejoining her family after the trip to Frankfurt, and so there is no cost to the City for her travel between Vancouver and Amsterdam.)
