At the Standing Committee on City Services and Budgets meeting on May 19, 2011, Vancouver City Council referred consideration of the following motion to the Regular Council meeting on May 31, 2011, in order to receive information from staff regarding elements of the Plan and implications for the City of Vancouver:

THAT the City of Vancouver endorse the Community Plan for a Public System of Integrated Early Care and Learning proposed by the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC and the Early Childhood Educators of BC, and urge the Provincial Government to commit to the Plan's vision and work with communities to immediately begin its implementation.

At the Public Hearing on May 19, 2011 (reconvened from May 17, 2011) on the above-noted application, Council agreed to continue the hearing at the Regular Council meeting on May 31, 2011, in order to hear closing comments of the applicant and staff. Council also referred its discussion and decision on the application to the same meeting, as Unfinished Business.
